Its goal is to improve health care services for South Dakota children with special health care needs. Pediatric specialists, the primary care physician, registered nurses, social workers, and dietitians work together to provide diagnostic, consultative, and care coordination services. This team works closely with the child's family to help them meet the child's needs. The program was established in 1990 to provide consultative, hands-on expertise in ABA to agencies, schools, and families. The BTTC provides individualized ABA services through four different programs: a short-term ICF/MR residential program for severe behavior challenges, an outreach program for less severe behavior challenges which do not require immediate removal from the home, a Positive Behavior Supports Training program for training others in the correct application of ABA techniques, and the BTTC Day Treatment program in which there are several programming options to choose from. |
