CPWD's goal is an integrated community that equally welcomes all members. The Center for People with Disabilities works so that people with disabilities in Boulder and Broomfield Counties may live independently. We believe that there is nothing more disabling than pity. People with disabilities are a powerful and significant part of our community, yet; as a group our social roles have been marginalized by bigotry, discrimination, poverty, isolation, dependency and pity. Americans with disabilities have not had access to transportation, housing and employment that other citizens have enjoyed; CPWD will change that.

We provide college options for autistic students. We give them the academic, independent living, and social skills support and development they need to live an independent and productive life. We have locations throughout the country.

College Living Experience is a post-secondary academic program that provides intensive assistance with academic, independent living and social skills to college students with special needs as they transition to become independent responsible adults. College Living Experience assists students throughout the academic process from registration to graduation. With centers in Austin, Texas, Denver and Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Washington D.C. and Monterey, Calif. College Living Experience offers access to nearly 20 community colleges, universities and technical institutes that offer a wide variety of certificate and degree programs.

Developmental Pathways is a non-profit agency created to serve persons with developmental disabilities and their families. It was established in 1964 as a community-based alternative to institutional care. Since that time, Pathways has developed a broad array of services based on the principle that full inclusion and participation in community life is attainable for every individual with a developmental disability. Developmental Pathways serves citizens of Arapahoe and Douglas Counties, and the City of Aurora, in Colorado, USA.

Government Agency; Center for Independent Living

Harmony Living Center has been providing meaningful alternatives to Developmentally Disabled Adults through Host Home and Group Environments, Respite Care to family and host home providers through Respite Temps, and community involvement through programs such as Saturday Out events and our Supported Living Services that reach out to people beyond our agency.

Serves Mesa County; Mesa Development Services (MDS) is a private, non-profit organization authorized by the State of Colorado to be the single point of entry to provide community based services to residents of Mesa County with developmental disabilities and their families. MDS is one of 20 Community Centered Boards in Colorado under contract with the Colorado Department of Human Services to provide specific services and supports for people with developmental disabilities.

North Metro Community Services was organized by a small group of parents for children with disabilities in 1964. We have evolved into a not-for-profit agency dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for persons of all ages who are developmentally disabled or delayed and who live in Adams County, Colorado, excluding the City of Aurora. North Metro is one of 20 Community Centered Boards in Colorado dedicated to serving this population.

Roundup Fellowship serves people with developmental disabilities--recognizing their dignity, affirming their ability to contribute, and helping them become as productive and self-reliant as possible. Our array of services include: homes for children, supported-living apartments, a vocational program, and in home support for families. In every setting, Roundup seeks to enable each participant to develop the skills and attitudes needed to function at home, on the job, and in society. Roundup functions as an interdependent network of people giving and receiving from one another, and in the process, building long term relationships through commitment.
