we are a parent founded, all volunteer, biomedical support group. We have an on-line listserve for WA state parents who are engaged in or seeking to begin biomedical, dietary, or other interventions for their children on the autism spectrum. As parents, we can share information on medical and therapy providers who we feel have been helpful to our families. There is no charge to be in our group, parents only.

Carla A. Brooks MA CCC-SLP provides individual therapy focusing on the development of language, play and social communication skills. She also provides consultation services for families with newly diagnosed children and for youngsters and families transitioning from elementary to middle school to high school and to college or the work setting and for young adults with Asperger Syndrome. Ms. Brooks presents workshops and other continuing education activities.

Every staff member holds a master's degree and is licensed by the state of Washington and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Each member is a recognized specialist in their areas of pediatric speech-language pathology. We offer communication methods for the unintelligible or non-speaking child.

Developmental Therapy Services works with many Children's Institute students, they also provide evaluation and therapy services to private clients who are not enrolled at CHILD. Referrals come from physicians, teachers, parents and other concerned individuals who work with children.

Dr. Guzzardo is a pediatric and adult neuropsychologist providing neurodevelopmental/neuropsychological evaluations of children and adults with developmental, learning, attention, medical, genetic, and behavioral/emotional difficulties. She provides parents with recommendations and referrals for treatment, as well as help in understanding the IEP process and guidance in developing effective IEPs for children given their unique difficulties.

Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities programs provide long-term, graduate level interdisciplinary training to health professionals. The purpose is to develop leadership potential to improve the health status of infants, children, and adolescents with or at risk for neurodevelopmental and related disabilities and to enhance the systems of care for these children and their families. The program focuses on health conditions of mental retardation, neurodegenerative and acquired neurological disorders and multiple handicaps. All LEND Programs operate within a university system and most have collaborative arrangements with local university hospitals, children's hospitals, and/or health care centers.

At CLASS, Inc., a team of highly trained professionals are dedicated to the treatment of children with autism spectrum disorders, langauge delays, and speech delays. CLASS, Inc serves children 0-12 years of age. Our primary focus is on functional language development and communication skills, feeding skills, oral motor skills, the treatment of apraxia and other motor-speech disorders are addressed as needed. CLASS Inc. owns many sophistocated voice-output communication devices that allow children who are severely involved to try out alternative methods of communication in a supportive environment without large out-of-pocket expense. At CLASS, Inc., we believe that therapy must be fun as well as functional. To that end, our clinic has a wealth of fun activities including a gross motor room equiped with trampoline, swing and slides, an on staff music therapist, sensory pits and toys galore.
