AUTISM CENTER OF VIRGINIA REGISTRY VIRGINIA COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY If you live in Virginia and have a child or other family member who has been diagnosed as having autism, consider enrolling him or her in the VCU Autism Center Registry. The Registry is an organization that facilitates autism research by matching investigators with families who would like to participate in research projects. Historically, registries have been extremely helpful in learning more about the pervasiveness of certain diseases and disorders, their progression, and ways to cure them. Now it is time to do that with autism. Enrollment in the Registry is easy, and you and your family choose whether or not you would like to participate in any given research project. For more information and enrollment materials, you may go to our website at http://www.vcuhealth.org/vtcc/Autism%20Registry.html or you can contact us by e-mail, phone, fax, or postal mail at: Coordinator, Autism Center Registry Autism Center of Virginia P.O. At Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC), we believe that each child deserves the best treatment possible. We believe that families deserve respect and compassion. We also believe that parents deserve to have a voice in their child's care--from the initial evaluation to a participating role in treatment. VTCC maintains a liberal visitation policy for patients hospitalized at our facility. Family members and/or guardians are encouraged to visit and participate in the child/adolescent's treatment. VTCC offers a broad spectrum of psychiatric services for children, adolescents, and their families, and works to improve the mental health of all Virginians through patient care, education, and research.
