She's a real go-getter and a tremendous advocate. When her daughter was diagnosed with PDD-NOS three years ago, there were scant resources for parents who needed answers. Even among the medical community and the school systems. No one seemed to know where to go or who to talk to. Ms. Wootton has played a large roll in establishing and maintaining this support system. She has done this for her daughter and for all parents of newly-diagnosed children.

The East Tennessee Chapter is composed entirely of volunteers. We are parents and professionals working together to try to provide as clear a picture of the disability as possible, the best ways of dealing with the challenge and the ways the citizens in the community can help.

We are passionate about meeting the needs of those with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), and their loved ones. We are also dedicated to making sure that the phrase, "AUTISM IS TREATABLE" becomes a well known fact, and common knowledge. Our goal is not only to provide critically necessary early intervention and life-long services and assistance, but also to educate our communities about the treatability of ASD's.

Autism Solution Center, Inc. provides all autism-related interventions under one roof and at No Cost! More than 10 national autism leadership organizations have come together to form AutismCares, a nationwide disaster relief effort that will potentially assist thousands of Katrina families living with autism. To address the most immediate needs, ”AutismCares – Katrina” is coordinating support for the unique needs of families affected by autism through facilitating temporary / permanent relocation support, mobilizing specialty assistance teams and providing autism-conscious supplies directly to these families and the professionals caring for them.
