Children's Care Hospital & School, based in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, provides educational and residential services to children with medical and/or behavioral needs, as well as outreach and outpatient services. Children's Care is a private, non-profit facility licensed by the South Dakota Departments of Health and Education. Last year, Children's Care served over 2200 children from birth to age 21 in South Dakota and surrounding states.

Children's Special Health Services is funded through the federal Title V Maternal and Child Health Block Grant and state matching funds, and administered by the South Dakota Department of Health. Its goal is to improve health care services for South Dakota children with special health care needs. Pediatric specialists, the primary care physician, registered nurses, social workers, and dietitians work together to provide diagnostic, consultative, and care coordination services. This team works closely with the child's family to help them meet the child's needs. Financial assistance is also available for specified conditions and procedures on a cost-share basis according to family size and income, utilizing the federal poverty guidelines

The mission of Prairie Freedom Center for Independent Living is to empower individuals with disabilities who choose to live independently. Providing independent living-related information and referral services for South Dakotans with disabilities, Prairie Freedom Center for Independent Living’s programs include a training on living independently; consumer advocacy information on accessing support services; community living services; and attendant service programs.

SVS serves citizens with a wide range of disabilities, provides training and employability development services, residential accommodations, and various medical and therapeutic services. A residential and day program for ages 14+.
