We're a special needs camp for kids and adults with developmental disabilities: mental retardation, autism, brain injury, and neurological disorders. Located near Philadelphia, Camp Joy's year-round recreational services include Summer Camp and Weekend Getaways.

The Mainstreaming-At-Camp (MAC) Program , offered through YAI/National Institute for people with Disabilities’ Clinical and Family Services Department provides children and young adults with developmental and learning disabilities a fantastic summer experience in traditional camp settings. YAI’s partnerships with two of the leading YMCA summer camps in the northeast enable us to provide a fun and unique summer camp experience in an *inclusive*, residential setting. Rather than segregate individuals with disabilities from their typically developing peers, MAC offers a camping experience within traditional summer camps to foster YAI/NIPD’s goals of inclusion and independence. In the course of our partnership, the program also promotes acceptance of diversity within the entire camp community by providing typically developing campers with a new awareness and acceptance of people with disabilities. Devereux Pocono Center’s vibrant community programs for adolescents and adults are located throughout the Pocono/Northeast. Devereux serves the Pocono/Northeat with relief care - day, overnight, in-the-home, & within our facilities, residential programs, pre-vocational and vocational training Programs. Our School to Community Transition Training Programs ensures special needs students can progress successfully to community work and living. We are part of the national Devereux Foundation, founded in 1912, a national continuum of care with centers in thirteen states and the District of Columbia.

At Epona Unlimited we provide Hippotherapy and Therapeutic Riding to individuals who live at all parts of the Autism Spectrum. We are also able to provide mainstream horseback riding for siblings, relatives and caregivers in need of the healing and balancing power of horses. Sessions offered year round at our indoor riding arena in Pennsburg, PA.

Dr. Mitchell provides psychological evaluations, psychoeducational evaluations, professional training/supervision, consultation, program development, research expertise, family therapy, individual therapy, advocacy, and other services for the ASD community. Dr. Mitchell addresses a wide variety of cutting-edge effective interventions such as DTT, TEACHH, Floortime, sensory integration, and so on. I am a freshman at Duquesne University. I have experience working with children with autism. Both of my parents are behavior analysts who work with individuals with autism. I am available most nights during the week and weekends. I have experience working with children on different motivational systems also. Swim instruction for special needs children and adults - We tailor our program to each student's individual needs and goals.

We are a resource for parents of newly diagnosed children with ASD. While our hope is to help families from all around the US, our focus is to help residents of Centre County PA get answers and services here in their county.

Respite Care visits may be arranged for any time, including weekends, weekdays, holidays or evenings, and may last from a few hours to two weeks. However, Respite does not operate weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on a non-emergency basis. At any given time, the number of individuals being served in the Respite facility may not exceed that permitted by local zoning ordinances or Labor and Industry standards for the building. Additionally, the combination of individuals must be such that all individuals� needs can be safely met and effectively managed within established staffing patterns. Because of the demand for Respite Care Services, scheduling tends to occur at least two weeks in advance of the planned visit. Presently services are provided in a licensed four bedroom ranch style home. The home is handicapped accessible. There are 4 full time highly trained and experienced staff and 1 Supervisor available 24/7. Persons needing services might have funding via their county office of MH/MR or can choose to self pay. Services are provided to persons age 4 through the life span with a primary diagnosis of Developmental Disability and could have a secondary diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, Autism, etc.

PLEA offers center-based and in-home services for children from age 3-14 with developmental and or behavioral difficutlies. Intervention is highly specialized and individualized to meet a child and family's unique needs. PLEA also offers summer camp and respite care.

Support organization

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been shown to be an effective treatment for the Autism Spectrum. The JRC has been providing this service for 4 years, while still trying to keep an affordable rate for families.
