We are nonprofit agency and we advocate Autistic Refugee childern in Georgia.Our parents and many of the childern are newly arrived refugees from Somalia, Iraq, Brundi, Burma, Afghanistan, and Sudan. We find them public resources such as medic Aid and SSI, we advocate them through school system and take the parents to SST and IEP meeting with school counselors. We intreprete by using community volunteers and our case managers. all are low income families and have an average of 5-7 childern.I, Nasra have 7 years old boy "Nalaye" who goes to the Marcus Autism Center and he gained alot by receiving 7-hours of one-on-one therepy.These families can not access the system without an assistance. imagine having an autistic child and not be able to communicate in English.
