These classes usually run from Spring to Fall (Weather Pending)held in
Factoryville, PA-Member Center of North American Riding for the Handicapped
Assocation (NARHA). The programs specialize with the special needs children
and youth FMI: www.PoconoEquestrian.org
Our aim is to increase skills such as focusing, socialization, receptive,
expressive language, patience and cooperation. The developmentally
challenged are children are very special and deserve to be able to have a
chance to be like the kids next door and further their skills in a way that
is fun for them. We feel our programs will provide them this opportunity.
Class Description: These classes are designed to be a fun and an introduction to horses as well as a therapy. Classes focus on coordination,
socialization, balance, speech and eye/hand coordination. (Depending on the individual)
Skill Area: Social skills, focusing skills, patience, waiting our turn, communication skills. These are a few of the things that will be worked on in a class.
Challenges: Patience, Sharing, Socialization, Speech, Following directions etc.
Parent must be present (in the Gym) at all times Hourly Class $10.00 - (Parent/guardian at no charge) Additional family members $10.00 Classes are
an Hour Pre-Registration form Needed 8 Classes per Session Please make sure your physician is notified of the activities your children/child is in.
