Kansas Resource Center on Autism (KRCA) located in Visser Hall, The Teachers College, Emporia State University, is a statewide, special information center for the benefit of individuals with Autism and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD), their family members and friends; early intervention specialists; educators; adult service providers; medical professional; researchers and other providers. The mission of this center is to improve the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities through access to information. The staff at the KRCA works to accomplish this purpose through five service objectives including to: listen and answer questions; increase public awareness of Autism/PDD; provide informational and instructional materials in the format that best fits the information seeker’s needs; conduct training sessions; and to provide consultation and networking opportunities consistent with the developmental disabilities policy of independence, productivity and inclusion.
