The Special Education Unit is responsible for the oversight administration and implementation of educational services for all eligible children with disabilitiesages 3 to 21. The unit is responsible for working with public and private agencies involved in the education and financing of educational services for this population. The unit provides financial support to public agencies for the implementation of educational services oversees the State's Comprehensive System of Personnel Development provides technical assistance through consultation and professional development and manages the dispute resolution systems under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) of 1997.
