The DDRCN is a group made up of parents and educators in the Downriver Districts of Wayne County, Michigan who are committed to the education of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We believe that collaboration between all parties interested in the education of children with ASD will lead to a deeper understanding of children with ASD, the disorder itself, and how the educational community can provide more beneficial instruction and experiences for the children.
This web site is one of the many ways that we work to foster and encourage collaboration regarding the education of children with ASD in our area. This web site allows us to communicate more efficiently across the distance that or collaborative network reaches. The discussion boards provide us a way to share the knowledge that we have gained through our experiences in the education of children with ASD, ask questions of others who may have had a similar experience, enjoy the perspective of others involved in the education of children with ASD in other districts and capacities, and share classroom and home "best practices" to aid others in their experience.
