PTI is a federally-funded grant project from the U.S. Department of Education. PTI provides training and information that meets the needs of parents of children with disabilities in Iowa. We focus particularly on underserved families and parents of children who may be inappropriately identified. PTI provides training opportunities on the Individuals with Disabilities Eduction Act (IDEA) of 1997. This training makes clear the availability of and how to effectively use proceedural safegards under IDEA '97 including alternative methods of dispute resolution as described in the Act. PTI assists parents to better understand their children's disability and educational development.
