JCFS Therapeutic Day School

The JCFS Therapeutic Day School provides a safe, supportive structured environment for K-12th grade students diagnosed with a variety of disabilities, including ED, Autism, LD, EMH, TBI, & SLP. The Autism Program within the school serves early elementary age students diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorders by offering a blend of innovative therapeutic methods, primarily structured around the TEACCH model, and a low student-to-staff ratio, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met. This integrative treatment approach is research based and includes support from a highly trained multi-disciplinary staff, including a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, social workers, special education teachers, and teachers’ aides. Our method aims to develop a child’s full educational potential, while building independence, and communication abilities. In addition, students are provided with opportunities to practice academic, social, and adaptive skills in a variety of settings, including their classroom and throughout the school building with the general school population.
The Therapeutic Day School is accredited and licensed by the North Central Association and the Illinois State Board of Education.
