Dr. Carosso works as a Licensed Child Clinical Psychologist, Certified School Psychologist, and he has a Graduate Certificate in Applied Behavioral Analysis in Special Education. Dr. Carosso has more than 20 years experience working in residential, inpatient, outpatient and school settings, and providing in-home services. He is Clinical Director of the Licensed Outpatient Mental Health Clinic, Community Psychiatric Centers (cpcwecare.com), Director of the Dyslexia Diagnostic and Treatment Center (dyslexiatreaters.com), and operates Dr. John Carosso, Psy.D. & Associates, Inc. He provides services for children in 10 offices spread over six counties. Dr. Carosso has conducted more than 15,000 evaluations on children with autism, learning problems and dyslexia, attention-deficit, trauma, depression, bipolar, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, and related difficulties. He has supervised dozens of clinical teams; regularly provides consultation to organizations, agencies, and parents; has served on the Advisory Board of local autism societies; and presented at regional conferences. Dr. Carosso worked eight years full-time as a School Psychologist and continues to provide services as a School Psychologist for local Cyber and Charter Schools. He co-hosted the weekly PCNC Cable-Station Television program, Community Psychiatric Centers Presents, for three years, targeting child mental health issues, and was a regular guest on various talk shows, including Night Talk, discussing childhood issues and related current events. Dr. Carosso has served for over ten years as an evaluator and expert witness, in child-welfare cases, in Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties. He is currently accepting referrals for evaluation and consultation.
